Shrine Bowl invites go to Wandell, Buchanan

   MURFREESBORO -- Two local high school football players have been selected to play in the sixth annual Tennessee Shrine Bowl East-West ALl-Star Classic on Saturday, June 22 at Middle Tennessee State University.
   Elizabethton receiver/safety Neal Wandell and Cloudland lineman Keith Buchanan will particpate for the East squad.
   The 82 graduating players were each nominated by their respective high school coaches and selected based upon their athletic perfornamances during their four years of prep ball.
   Jerry Joslin from Cookeville High School will coach the East squad, while Terry Arrington of Kenwood H.S. in Clarksville will head coach the West.
   Considered to be "Tennessee's Football's Finest Hour," the event raises money for the Shriner's Hospital for Children, which offers free, quality medical health care to children up to 18 years of age with orthopedic problems, spinal cord injuries and severe burns.
   The 22 Shriner's Hospitals in North America have provided health care to more than 650,000 children - including over 3,000 current patients in Tennessee - and the Shrine Association has over 16,600 members.
   The Tennessee Shrine Bowl will be broadcast live on the Tennessee Radio Network and televisied on cable via Fox Sports Net South to seven states in th southeast.
