General Machine breezes past Mountain City

   Carter County General Machine really oiled up its baseball machinery on Saturday at Hampton High School.
   As a result, General Machine blasted Mountain City #2 by scores of 17-1 and 14-1 in junior league activity, improving its record to 6-0 on the season.
   Game one saw Cory Pearson go 3-for-4 at the plate and combine with Kelly Grindstaff on a nifty one-hitter. Pearson earned the decision.
   Making solid contributions for Carter County were Josh Fair, 2-for-2; Cody Montgomery, 2-for-3; and Caleb Trivett, 1-for-2.
   Josh Poteet, 1-for-1, was tops for Mountain City.
   In the second game of the day, Aaron Greer was the pitching star, tossing a one-hitter, and Tee Blevins led Machine at the plate, batting 3-for-3.
   Adam Buckles went 2-for-2 and Michael Carpenter 2-for-3 in noteworthy efforts for the winners. Seth Montgomery chipped in a 1-for-1 showing.
   Getting the only hit for Mountain City was Cody Bryant, who tripled in a 1-for-1 performance.
