Mopar Mania returning to Bristol Dragway

   BRISTOL -- Chryslers, Plymouths and Dodges will take center stage this weekend as the always popular Hensley Performance 5th Annual Mopar Mania returns to Bristol Dragway, May 28-30.
   The event includes three big days of drag racing, along with a car show, swap meet, Manufacturers Midway and Slant 6 Club Racing. Also scheduled is an appearance by Ben "Cooter" Jones of The Dukes of Hazzard fame.
   Jones, along with the General Lee, the famous 1969 Dodge Charger which appeared in the show, will be at the dragway on both Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to sign autographs and pose for pictures.
   Entry fees are as follows: Car Show $25 (additional $10 admission), Quick 16 $100 (weekend pass), Electronic (Bracket Race) $80 (weekend pass) $45 (Sunday only), Non-Electronic (Bracket Race) $60 (weekend pass) $35 (Sunday only), Slant 6 $40 (weekend pass) and Trophy $40 (weekend pass), $25 (Sunday only).
   Car show judging will take place on Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon.
   The Quick 16 winner will pocket $3,000, the Super Pro winner receives $2,000, the Pro winner earns $1,000. The Slant 6 winner takes home $600, runner-up $300, semifinalists $100 and quarterfinalists $50. The Trophy winner takes home $300.
   A three-day pass for spectators is $35 while a two-day pass is $25. Children under 12 will be admitted free with a paying adult. A three-day crew pass is $35 and a two-day crew pass is $25. One day admission (any day) is $15.
   Gates open Friday at 9 a.m. and at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
