Moose, Metal, Express get job done

   Moose, Elizabethton Herb & Metal and Expert Express claimed wins in Babe Ruth play Saturday at Elizabethton High School.
   Moose Yankees 8
   David's Trophies Giants 6
   In one of the best games of the season, Moose pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game after David's Trophies had tied the score in the top half.
   Jeff Peters got the win in relief while Scott Burleson took the loss in relief of Cody Marley.
   Brandon Whitehead led Moose at the plate, going 2 for 2, while Daniel Shankle and Peters were 2 for 3 and 2 for 4, respectively. Brooks Price and Dalton Williams chipped in with one each to lead the Bullwinkles.
   Matt Rasnick had a fantastic day for the engravers, going 3 for 4, and Brandon Medina and Franky Birchfield followed with 2-for-4 performances.
   Burleson, Marley and Chris "Bucket" Pierce had one hit each with Pierce going 1 for 1.

   Citizens Bank Braves 4
   The recyclemen used a eight-run first inning to knock off the Bankers in convincing fashion 12-4 in the second contest.
   The Daniel Simerly earned the win while Michael Bowers took the loss. Tyler Blevins and Dylan Shallcross gave the Reds some outstanding relief work on the mound.
   Josh Holly was dynamite for Herb & Metal, going 3 for 4 including a triple. Shallcross, Simerly, Nick Payne and David Caldwell added two hits while Brandon Birchfield, Blevins, and David Donald gathered one each to pace the high powered offense of the big Red Machine.
   Tyler Andes continued his outstanding play, batting 3 for 3 including a double while Justin Covington had the other hit.
   Expert Express Diamondbacks 18
   Elks Cubs 2
   The truckers put up 18 wheelers on the scoreboard en route to their huge win over the Cubs.
   Travis Bishop tossed a one-hitter for the D-Backs and banged out two triples to lead the hitting attack.
   Wesley Keylon, Nick McNeal and Nick Papantoniou contributed two hits for Expert while Jeff Wilson, Will Wagner, Isaiah Osborne and Luke Snyder collected one each to help the cause.
   Tim Franklin had the only hit for the Cubs while D.J. Reece and Brandon Grindstaff scored the two runs.
