Buffs sign Rutledge pitcher

from staff reports

Milligan head baseball coach Danny Clark has announced that Matt Day from Rutledge High School (Tenn.) will play for the Buffaloes next season.
Day, a right-handed pitcher and shortstop, was named Defensive Player of the Year and co-MVP at Rutledge. He also was named to the all-conference and all-region teams.
Boasting a 6-1 pitching record as a senior and throwing in the 84-85 mph range, Clark expects that Day will compete for a starting role as pitcher.
"Matt will be an impact player for Milligan," Clark said. "I look for him to come in and compete for a starting role. He throws his curveball for a strike.  Matt will be an asset as a student and player, and I look forward to having him in my program."
