Carter County Bank, Burgie snatch wins

   Carter County Bank and Burgie Drugs earned wins Monday night in Elizabethton National Little League play. The Bankers knocked off KFC 15-10 while Burgie Drug disposed of Valley Forge Auction 14-4.
   The Bankers found it finger-lickin good against the drumsticks in a game that featured 25 total runs and 14 hits. The money men jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning, but the Colonels kept pecking away to keep the game close.
   Austin Johnson got the win while Zack Treadway took the loss. Chase Depew and Derek Mann knocked the cover off the ball, both going 3-for-3 on the evening while Caleb Palm added the other hit.
   Caleb Durent led KFC, going 2 for 2, while Clayton Ray followed at 2-for-2. Nick Campbell was a perfect 1-for-1 while Cody Vestal slammed a triple and James Bengi chipped in with a hit.
   Brooks Cochran closed out the game with a nice double play.
   Burgie gave Auction a good dose of medicine as the pharmacists banged out 10 hits en route to its win. A 14-run third inning by Burgie proved to be the difference in the game.
   Drew "Heavy D" Chambers smacked the pill all over the field, going 3-for-3 with two doubles. Lucas Birchfield followed with a perfect 2-for-2.
   Matt Febuary and Ryan Thomas chipped in with a 1-for-2 night.
   Willie Schneider and Aaron Bose had the only hits for Auction.
   Sean Bentley earned the win for Burgie while Aaron Garcia took the loss.
