Nissan clips Carter County Bank

from staff reports

Gas prices have soared around two dollars, but Tri-Cities Nissan had just enough left in its tank to edge out a 3-2 win over Carter County Bank on Tuesday night in Elizabethton National League action.
Jake Miller pitched the first three innings before giving way to Ethan Fleenor, who closed the deal in fashion. Each pitcher allowed only one hit.
Derek Mann took a tough loss for the Bankers, allowing two hits while striking out 10 on the night. Jake Miller had a triple to pace Miller, with Drew Clark collecting the other hit.
Matthew Potter and Caleb Palm had the only hits for the Bankers, who ran out of cash before the Nissan ran out of gas.
Carter County Motors 3, Six Sigma 2
The night was rough and rocky for the boys from Six Sigma as Cody "The Rock" Hyder pitched the model T's to the victory.
This was close encounter the whole way as Sigma hung like super glue, only to slip off like a two-day old band-aid in this six-inning affair.
Hyder tossed a one-hitter to earn the win while Jacob Howell pitched brilliantly in defeat.
Jake Hodge was 2-for-2 to lead Motors while Hyder was 1-for-1. Nick Kyte and Cody Anderson added 1-for-2 nights. Howell had the only hit on the night for Six Sigma, an inside-the-park homer with a runner aboard.

Citizens Bank 6, Cline Holder 2
In a four-inning affair on Monday night, Citizens put six runs in its safe deposit box, which was good enough for a four-run win over Cline Holder.
Justin Nave swung a mean stick for Bank with two hits, one which went for a triple. Jordan 'Little Mick" Taylor bombed a two-bagger to help the cause.
Kyle Walsh and Matthew Street had the only hits for Cline Holder. Street's went for a double.
