Hutchinson captures second Sportsman win

   BRISTOL -- Jonathan Hutchinson of Bluff City snagged his second Bristol Dragway Sunoco Bracket win of the season during Saturday's race, the fourth points event of the year.
   Hutchinson and his 1965 Mustang posted a .069 light with a 12.990 elapsed time at 101.99 mph to oust runner-up Annette Wiseman of Marion, N.C. Wiseman's 1995 Intreprid came off the line in .092 seconds with an 18.077 E.T. at 73.35 mph.
   Allen Byrd padded his advantage in the Super Pro points race by claiming his second win of the season in his 2004 RaceTech ride. Byrd, who hails from Kingsport, cut a .006 light with a 5.147 elapsed time at 128.71 mph. Byrd bested Matthew Aldridge of Banner Elk, N.C., who cut a .028 light with a 5.217 light at 131.43 mph.
   After finishing in the runner-up slot of Pro action in the first race of the year, Stanley Smith and his 1955 Chevy Wagon found his way into winner's circle by knocking off Neal Church.
   Smith, who is from Maynardville, Tenn., had an amazing .002 light with an 8.080 elapsed time at 120.14 while Church, of Boone, N.C., posted a .048 light in his 1993 Grand Am with a 5.977 E.T. at 120.14 mph.
   Elizabethton's Mike Gill continued his dominance in Pro Bike action, riding his 1992 Suzuki past Stewart Dollar of Bristol, Tenn., in the finals. Gill cut a .037 light with a 6.063 E.T. at 99.66 mph while Dollar's 1997 Kawasaki had a .274 light with a 6.490 elapsed time at 107.72 mph.
   Kingsport's Austin Olinger grabbed win No. 2 in Junior Dragster Division 1 action with his victory over Ben Denton of Bristol, Va. Olinger had a .051 reaction time with a 9.313 E.T. at 68.52 mph while Denton had a .219 light with a 13.224 E.T. at 43.11 mph.
   Clinton Snead of Bristol, Tenn., scored his first win of the year by beating Seth Street of Cedar Bluff, Va. Snead posted a .040 reaction time with an 8.107 E.T. at 73. 44 mph while Street had a .145 light with a 9.446 elapsed time at 66.94 mph.
   Bracket action continues on Saturday, May 15 with the fifth points race of the season. Gates open at 10:30 a.m.
