Slagle to play volleyball at MC

from staff reports

Alison Slagle, a senior from Tennessee High, has signed a letter-of-intent to enroll and play volleyball for head coach Kim Hyatt and the Milligan College Lady Buffaloes in the fall.
Slagle played at the varsity level for the Lady Vikings the past three seasons. This past season she boasted the second highest hitting percentage for the Lady Vikings and served 100 percent against conference teams.
She was named to the Big 7 All-Conference team, All-District I Team, and first team TACA All-Star East Team.
"Alison was one of the best leaders and captains that has played for us," said Tennessee High head coach Peggy Dempsey. "She will make major contributions to the collegiate program due to her maturity, integrity, great work ethics, and her love for the game."
Slagle excels not only on the court, but in the classroom as well. Boasting a 4.0 GPA, she is an outstanding example of a strong student-athlete.
"Great players come from Peggy Dempsey's Tennessee High program, and Alison Slagle is no exception," said Hyatt. "Alison is a strong left-hander who will aid the Lady Buffs with her strong hitting ability and good back court play. Alison is a wonderful athlete and student. Her work ethic and her love for the game stand out every time she walks on the court. We are so happy Alison chose to come to Milligan."
Slagle said of her decision to attend Milligan: "One of the reasons I chose Milligan was because of its proximity. It wasn't too close to home, but not too far away either. Coach Hyatt made me feel very comfortable and it seemed like the right fit. Additionally, it provides me the opportunity to once again play with a former Tennessee High teammate, Tara Earhart."
Slagle is the daughter of Tom and Delma Slagle.
