Greene Devils upend Unaka

from staff reports

GRAY--Greeneville took advantage of seven errors and six walks to knock off Unaka 16-8 at Daniel Boone Friday afternoon.
Unaka led 1-0 after one on a homerun by Chad Lewis and went up 5-4 in the third after Randy Swearingen slammed a double for two RBIs, but its lackluster defense was too much to overcome on the evening.
Lewis and Travis Pasquale led the hitting with two each on the day. Pasquale slammed a home run and accounted for three RBIs.
Unaka used Ryan Bowers, Kirk Kemp and Andrew Church on the mound to try and stop the Green Devil attack.
Greeneville lost their second game 4-2 against Daniel Boone. With wins over Boone and Volunteer, Unaka advanced to the championship game to take on Elizabethton at David Crockett High School with gametime being 2 p.m.
Elizabethton was undefeated in its pool play with wins over West Greene, University High and Crockett.
