Elizabethton boots Daniel Boone, 3-1

from staff reports

The Elizabethton soccer team defeated Daniel Boone 3-1 Friday, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes.
Having defeated the Trailblazers a week ago, the Cyclones were able to allow playing time to the entire team.
"We pretty much dominated play," said Cyclone soccer coach Bill McClay. "We were able to play everybody -- we beat them a week ago five to nothing."
Dylan Smith, Derek Slagle and E.J. Crowe scored Elizabethton's goals. The Cyclones scored the first two in the first half and added a third in the second half.
Ben Carey manned the Cyclone net in the first half, and was relieved by Daniel Wagner in the second.
"I don't think we played as well as we were capable of playing, but it was good enough to win," McClay said. "We scored the first two goals in the first 15 minutes and then just let down intensity-wise. With all the substitutions, we lost constitution on the field."
Elizabethton, now 6-1, host David Crockett Tuesday during Cyclone senior night.
