Wade, Bucs part ways

from staff reports

JOHNSON CITY -- East Tennessee State University's men's basketball coach Murry Bartow announced Tuesday that rising junior guard Tiras Wade (Tampa, Fla.) will no longer be playing for the Buccaneers.
"After having multiple discussions with Tiras, it became clear to me that it was in the best interest of both parties to allow Tiras a chance at a fresh start," Bartow said.
"In the end, my priority is to do what's best for ETSU basketball. I believe this will be the best decision for Tiras and our program here at ETSU."
Wade, who went on an indefinite leave of absence midway through the 2002-03 season while dealing with personal issues, played in 18 games and averaged 16.3 points per contest. He missed the Bucs' final 13 games.
