Nave's no-hitter lifts Expert over Phillips

   Corey Nave, pitcher for the Expert Express Diamondbacks, started his season with a major flourish as the Elizabethton Babe Ruth on Saturday enjoyed opening-day action.
   Nave hurled a no-hitter, and the Diamondbacks shut out the Phillips Development Red Sox by a score of 7-0.
   Josh Turner provided the offensive highlight of the game, blasting a home run in a 1-for-1 performance.

   Citizens Bank Reds 7
   Matt Rasnick was 3-for-4 and pitched his way to a win for the Red Sox, who got past the Reds in a good battle.
   Jared Oliver and Scott Burleson added 1-for-2 and 1-for-3 efforts, respectively, for Phillips Development.
   Daniel Guinn served as the Reds' hitting catalyst at 3-for-3. Bryant Collins and Brandon Jaynes both went 1-for-2.

   Elizabethton Elks Cubs 3
   Cory Pearson had a game to remember for the winning Twins, going 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs.
   Brooks Price, 3-for-5; Matthias Maines, 2-for-3; Daniel Shankle, 2-for-4; played key offensive roles for Moose. C.J. Campbell complemented Pearson's power with a home run of his own.
   Jeff Peters effectively worked the mound for win.
   The Elks' Brandon Grindstaff forged a good offensive showing, batting 3-for-3. Wyatt Penrod chipped in a 1-for-1 game.

   Citizens Bank Reds 0
   The Moose enjoyed a banner performance, riding the stellar pitching of Cory Pearson and 2-for-2 efforts from Jeff Peters, Chris Richardson, Larry Creed and C.J. Campbell.
   Daniel Shankle also contributed a pair of hits, going 2-for-3, while Pearson and Terry Campbell each went 1-for-1.
   Daniel Guinn and Jacques Romain, both at 1-for-1, showed the way for Citizens Bank. Bryant Collins was 1-for-2.
   P.I.C. Braves 12
   Tetrick Yankees 2
   Derek Nave held the Yankee bats in check, and did some damage at the plate with a pair of hits in three at-bats.
   Robert Davenport and Blake Hopson had standout games for P.I.C., as both players batted 3-for-3.
   Jeff Wilson topped the Yankee attack with a 2-for-2 output. Chris Wagner followed at 1-for-2.

   Tetrick Yankees 0
   Jeff Peters was the main man on the mound for the Twins, silencing the Tetrick attack.
   Peters, Daniel Shankle, Cory Pearson, Chris Richardson and C.J. Campbell each had two hits in a winning cause.
   Cody Scalf, at 2-for-2, was high man for the Yanks. Chris Wagner and J.D. Scalf added 1-for-2 games.
