TNC Lawn Care knocks off KFC

Josh Peterson went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs
to support the superb pitching of Justin Pierce as T-N-C Lawn
Care defeated KFC 4-1 on Saturday at Jim Ensor Field.
KFC went up 1-0 in the first inning and held
that lead until Lawn Care tallied three runs in the third.
That was all the runs Pierce would need as he held KFC to
four hits.
Knox Eryasa and Franky Covarrubias batted 1-for-2
for the winners, with Pierce and Josh Lipford going 1-for-3.
Jordan Adams led the way for KFC, going 2-for-3.
Bruce Crumley and Alec Whitehead added 1-for-3 efforts.
Elizabethton Federal 8
Summers-Taylor 1
Pitcher Brett Price held the Summers-Taylor offense
in check, and Elizabethton Federal broke up a close game with
five runs in the fifth.
Dennis Turbyfill carried the big bat for E-Fed,
pounding out three hits in four at-bats. Jonathan Hardin and
Travis Tolley contributed 2-for-3 and 2-for-4 performances,
respectively, while Matt Fair chipped in at 1-for-3.
D.J. Puckett's 1-for-1 was tops for Summers-Taylor.
Dakota Waters and Chase Hall followed at 1-for-2.
David's Auto 11
Inland Paperboard 5
Alex Chambers pitched his way to victory and
batted 2-for-2 to lead his team at the plate, helping David's
Auto win by a six-run margin.
A fast start was enough for David's Auto, on
top 8-0 by the middle of the third inning, to get the job
done.
Jordan Taylor delivered a 2-for-3 showing for
David's Auto, which got a 1-for-2 game from Jake Hubbard.
Brandon Taylor was 1-for-3.
Tops for Inland was Taylor Edwards at 1-for-1
and Brian Hamby at 2-for-3. Jordan Pearce and Sam Parlier
batted 1-for-2.
Citizens Bank 5
Cline-Holder 4
Citizens Bank fell behind 4-0 in the first inning,
then fought its way back to take a razor-thin victory.
Adam Colbaugh hurled a relief win after taking
over on the mound in the second inning.
Corey Scalf paced the Bankers offensively with
a 2-for-2 effort, while Franky Birchfield and Colbaugh provided
2-for-3 outputs. Hunter Peters went 1-for-2.
Batting 1-for-2 for Cline-Holder were Logan Andrews
and Kendall Wash. Zack Boles and Greg Sams each batted 1-for-3.
Friday's Games

David's Auto 2
Kyle Wash and Jonathan Nicholas combined to hurl
a one-hitter and give Cline-Holder the win.
Logan Andrews went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead
the C-H batters. Greg Sams and Nicholas got the other hits
for Cline-Holder.
Logan Carden got the lone hit for David's Auto.
Citizens Bank 9
Inland Paper 3
Adam Colbaugh had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the
plate to lead Citizens to the victory over Inland.
Winning pitcher Franky Birchfield was also adept
with the bat, registering two hits himself. Steven Brickey
and Hunter Peters rounded out a seven-hit total for Citizens.
Jordan Pearce, Jared Reece and Brian Hamby had
1-for-3 days to lead Inland.

Summers-Taylor 1
Josh Lipford scattered six hits over six innings
as T-N-C backed him up with solid defense to take the victory
over Summers-Taylor.
Justin Pierce and Austin Nanney each paced T-N-C
with three hits apiece, while Tyler Jaynes had two hits and
Jeremy Wright and Jonathan Chapman each added one hit.
Despite a losing effort on the mound, Dakota
Waters led Summers with two hits, while Crystal Covington,
Jeremy Street, Daniel Mummy and Roger Bailey each came up
with one hit.

Andy Harding and the KFC defense kept a no-hitter
going in a game shortened by the mercy rule.
Micah Cates powered to a 4-for-4 day to lead
the charge. Other hot KFC bats included Alec Whitehead going
3-for 4, Bruce Crumley going 2-for-3, Sam Adams at 2-for-2.
Dustin Treadway and Randy Gray rounded out the
hitting.
