Former Boone golfer transfers to Milligan

from staff reports

Former Daniel Boone High School golf standout, Aaron Jessee, will transfer from Radford University to Milligan College and play golf for the Buffs.
Jessee will begin classes at Milligan in the fall and will be eligible to compete immediately.
At Boone, Jessee was a 3-time all conference player and qualified for the TSSAA regional tournament all four years.
He was Boone's golf MVP three times and holds their school record for a 9-hole match with a score of 33, shot at Roan Valley Golf Course in Mountain City.
Jessee also competes on the American Junior Golf Association Tour and recently finished second in a Maryland tournament. He signed to play golf with Radford after his senior season at Boone.
Milligan golf coach Tony Wallingford is happy to have Jessee on his squad.
"Aaron is an outstanding golfer and an even better young man," Wallingford said. "With five seniors leaving our program, Aaron will be counted on right away not only for some low scores, but leadership as well."
Milligan finished the spring golf season as the runner-up in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and placed two members on the all-conference team.
Jessee will join three returning members of the Buffs' team as well as four incoming freshmen.
Other local standouts that have already signed with Milligan include D-B's Matt Barefoot, Science Hill's Matt Ongie, and Elizabethton's Daniel Sochalski.
Jessee plans a major in psychology at Milligan. He is the son of Randy and Ann Jessee of Gray.
