Buffs beaten by Spalding

   LOUISVILLE, Kent. -- The pieces refused to fall in place for the Milligan College baseball team on Wednesday afternoon.
   The Buffs suffered an 11-2 loss at the hands of Spalding University (Kent.) in the opening round of the Region XII NAIA Tournament.
   Spalding, the host school for the tournament, held Milligan to just four hits on the day while handing Buffs pitcher Matt Simmons (9-2) just his second loss of the year.
   Brad Davis pitched the win.
   Ben Whittemore was tops for Milligan by going 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
   The Buffs, now 34-20, take on fellow AAC member Tennessee Wesleyan at 3 p.m. this afternoon. Milligan will be eliminated if it loses, but will play another game, later in the day, should it defeat the Bulldogs.
   Tennessee Wesleyan defeated Brescia University 3-2 on Wednesday, while another AAC representative, Brevard, knocked off Indiana University Southeast by a 10-5 score.
