   It took five errors, but the Valley Forge Auction squad squeezed past the Elizabethton Twins 1-0 in National Little League play on Saturday.
   The Twins had three hits on the game, but committed three errors in the bottom of the fifth to give the Auction team its run. Twins pitcher Lance Reed only gave up one hit on the game, but took the tough loss.
   "This was a great game to watch and be a part of," said Auction coach Randy Smith. "Both teams showed sportsmanship, hustle and the will to win."
   Jordan Hodge pitched four innings for Auction, giving up two hits. Chris Dunbar closed the game with one hit and five strikeouts for Auction to end the contest.
   Benjamin McKinney, Dalton Luster and Craig Sheets all had a hit for the Twins, while Jerry Berkley provided the only hit for Valley Forge.

   Burgie Drug 3
   In another close contest, Cash Express used a three run spurt in the top of the sixth inning to come back and hold off Burgie Drug.
   Justin Bailey walked for the Express, leading to a Joe Guinn single. Both runs scored from a Michael Hutchins double and Hutchins scored from a Luke Snyder hit.
   Guinn took the win on the mound and finished two of three on the evening. Matt February and Drew Chambers were one of one each for Burgie Drug, while Jordan Meredith and Daniel Wilson both slapped out a hit.

   Despite being outhit 10-8, Carter County Motors continues chart an undefeated course this season.
   Bobby Campbell and Brandon Birchfield each batted 2-for-3 for the winners, with Stacy Sheffield, Nolan Childers and Chris Pierce adding 1-for-2 efforts.
   Jake Hodge recorded the win on the rubber.
   Tops for Sigma were Richard Lovelace and Cody Tolley at 2-for-3 each, and Logan Loving at 1-for-1. Conner Plaas and Brandon Woodby both went 1-for-2.
   Carter County Bank 11
   Tri-Cities Nissan 7
   Matt Potter and Cody Forbes both batted 2-for-3 -- Potter drove in three runs -- as Carter County Bank derailed Tri-Cities Nissan.
   Caleb Palm contributed a 1-for-2 showing at the plate, while Landon South, Zak Livingston and Derek Mann each chipped in a hit for CCB.
   Justin Fuqua pitched the victory.
   Joshua Price went 1-for-2 to pace Nissan, which got a hit apiece from Drew Clark, Ethan Pritchard and Ethan Fleenor.

   Burgie Drug 0
   Flirting with a perfect game, Ben McKinney finished with a one-hit victory in the Twins' blanking of Burgie.
   Zach Miller (1-for-2) broke up McKinney's perfect game when he beat out a bunt in the bottom of the fifth.
   Craig Sheets, at 2-for-2, led the Twins at the dish. McKinney, Zack Montgomery and Dalton Luster aided the winning cause by going 2-for-3 apiece.
