Junior League club reels in three
wins

The Carter County American Jr. League team had
an oustanding weekend of competition, racking up three successive
wins over Erwin 3, and Daniel Boone 1 and 3.
The General Machine sponsored American team opened
Friday night with a 12-5 victory against Erwin.
Tee Blevins won the opening game over Andrew
Harris, and batted three for three with two RBIs. Kelly Grindstaff
went two for three for American.
Blevins tallied 11 strikeouts in six innings
of play, giving up six hits.
American opened up Saturday morning with two
wins at Hampton High School. The first came with a 16-2 win
over Daniel Boone 1.
Tee Blevins went three for four with three RBIs,
while Cody Montgomery went two for four with three RBIs. Michael
Carpenter went one for two on the day.
Aaron Greer won the contest from the mound, pitching
a complete game with five strikeouts and only four hits.
In the final contest Saturday, American defeated
Daniel Boone 3 in a 14-4 contest.
Caleb Trivett got the win over Steven Johnson,
and was led by an outstanding team effort.
Grindstaff went four for four, Adam Buckles and
Josh Fair both went two of three, and Cory Pearson went three
for four with two doubles and one triple.
Wes Potts and Justin Widener led Daniel Boone.
The victories improve the General Machine team's record to
3-0. American will face Bluff City on Tuesday.
