Garrison, McNeal lead Papa John's to victory

Ricky Garrison and Nick McNeal pitched and hit
the Papa John's Diamondbacks to a 9-1 victory over the Citizens
Bank Cardinals in Saturday's action from the Babe Ruth League.
Garrison, who picked up the win, and reliever
Nick McNeal combined to hold the Cardinals to a total of five
hits.
Doing their part with the bat, Garrison went
2-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run while McNeal batted
3-for-4.
Corey Nave made a solid 2-for-4 contribution
to the D-Back attack, with Jessee White adding a triple.
Justin Conway was the one big bright spot for
the Cards, going 4-for-4. Ryan Lawhern chipped in a 1-for-2
effort.

Randy Swearingen racked up 14 strikeouts against
three walks in a strong showing on the mound. Swearingen also
went 2-for-3 to spark the Indians to a victorious quest.
Charles Peters and Scott Burleson chipped in
1-for-1 showings for PIC, followed by Jordan Honeycutt at
1-for-3.
Tops for the Braves, who did all of their scoring
in the seventh inning, was Ryan Kennedy with a 3-for-4 performance.
Michael Mann, 2-for-3, and Lucas Deloach, 1-for-3, had good
days at the plate.
