Lawn Care cruises past KFC, Lumber trims C-H from staff reportsJustin Pierce batted 2-for-4 and pitcher Jonathan Chapman held the KFC bats in check, lifting T-n-C Lawn Care to a 10-1 Carter County American Little League victory at Jim Ensor Field Thursday night. Lawn Care got more than enough runs in the first inning, scoring four times. Knox Eryasa, Chapman added a hit and two runs apiece for T-n-C, which also received two runs from Pierce. Dan Campbell accounted for KFC's lone run, belting a home run in the fifth inning. Cody Vance added a hit. In other activity at Ensor Field, Elizabethton Lumber scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to edge Cline-Holder, which had scored twice in the top of the inning to take the lead. Jacob Taylor started Lumber's fourth with a single, and Austin Smith finished the inning with a base hit. Taylor was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs in the game, while Smith went 1-for-2 and walked twice. Chris Morton pitched the victory. Matthew Street tripled and Logan Andrews doubled to pace Cline-Holder. Zack Boles had a single and two walks. | |||||||
