KFC, Greg's Pizza prevail

   Kentucky Fried Chicken and Burgie Drug brought plenty of excitement to T.J. Burleson Field on Tuesday night, with Burgie nabbing a 9-8 Elizabethton National Little League victory in eight innings.
   KFC and Burgie scored two runs apiece in the sixth and one run each in the seventh before Burgie outscored KFC 2-1 in the eighth.
   In the bottom of the eighth, Jordan Vanhoy and Drew Chambers sandwiched walks around a Justin Bailey single, then Luke Martinez slapped a two-run base hit to end the game.
   Sean Bentley took the mound in the eighth for Burgie and picked up the win. Chambers and Matt Febuary batted 2-for-3 and 2-for-4, respectively, for the winners.
   James Benge was 2-for-3 for KFC, which got 1-for-2 efforts from Nick Lyons and Caleb Durant. Cody Vestal batted 1-for-3.

   Jacob Davis smashed a homer over the center-field fence in a 2-for-2 showing as Greg's Pizza beat VFA in a game limited to two innings because of the nightly 10 p.m. curfew.
   Joe Guinn went 2-for-2, doubling in both at-bats, and Josh Peterson also went 2-for-2 in solid performances for Greg's. Michael Hutchins got the win from the hill, holding the young Auctioneers to no hits.
