E-Fed rebuffs Cline-Holder

   Brett Price had two walks, two runs, a single and served as the winning pitcher in his team's game on Monday night at Jim Ensor Field, where Elizabethton Federal knocked off Cline-Holder 13-3 in a Carter County American Little League game.
   E-Fed also rode the strength of a seven-run third inning, in which Drew Shingleton tripled and Billy Palmer singled. Palmer, batting 2-for-3 and scoring two runs, showed the way for Federal offensively. David McInturff went 1-for-2 while Aaron Mosley, Dustin Turbyfill and Logan Shell tallied two runs apiece.
   Shell pitched in relief of Price, helping to contain the Cline-Holder bats.
   Jordan Banner batted 1-for-2 to lead Cline-Holder. Logan Andrews, Nick Jenkins and Zack Bowles ech added 1-for-3 performances.

Elizabethton Lumber 8
   Jordan Taylor slammed a two-run homer to center field, doubled and had three RBIs in a 2-for-4 effort that sparked Citizen's Bank to a hard-earned victory.
   Taylor's homer came in the second inning, and the Bankers managed to score at least one run in all five of their at-bats.
   Zack Naylor was 1-for-1 with two walks and two runs, and Josh Rasnick batted 2-for-3 to help out the winning cause.
   Jake Hubbard (W) and Logan Carden worked two innings apiece for the Bankers, with Taylor pitching the final frame.
   Leading the way for Elizabethton Lumber was Chris Morton and Austin Smith, each at 2-for-2. Corey Scalf went 1-for-2.
   Saturday's Games
   KFC 4
   Citizen's Bank 2
   A three-run third inning, highlighted by a Dan Campbell RBI triple, was enough to propel KFC to a victory over Citizen's Bank.
   The Bankers had scored both of their runs in the top of the inning to grab a 2-1 lead, but KFC retaliated with four hits, including singles by Jared Schrader, Jake Range and Micah Cates. Cates and Range drove in runs with their hits.
   Leading KFC at the plate was Campbell at 3-for-3 and Range at 2-for-2. Cates was 2-for-3 with a double, Schrader also went 2-for-3.
   Alec Whitehead pitched the win, recording a one-hitter while striking out 15 batters.
   Jordan Taylor had the lone hit for Citizen's.

   Elizabethton Lumber 4
   Going 3-for-3 with a double and two runs, and striking out 10 in a victorious effort on the hill, Samuel Parlier led Summers-Taylor past Elizabethton Lumber.
   Billy Bales was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs the winners, who got a hit and two walks from Jaymon Williams. Tops for Elizabethton Lumber was Chris Morton with two hits, including a double, in three at-bats, and two runs.
   Friday's Game
   KFC 10

   A sizzling affair went the way of KFC, which tallied five runs in the top of the fifth inning to erase a three-run deficit.
   KFC received an Alec Whitehead triple, a Dan Campbell double and singles from Jake Range, Micah Cates and Nathan Presnell in its pivotal frame.
   Cates finished up with a tidy 3-for-3 showing, collecting a double and triple along the way. Rasnick, at 2-for-2 with a double, and Campbell, 3-for-4, followed closely on the stat sheet, and Jake Range had a solid 2-for-4 output.
   Campbell, Range, Rasnick and Cates tallied two runs each, and Jordan Anders proved triumphant from the mound.
   For E-Lumber, which tallied eight of its runs in the third, Jacob Taylor was 1-for-1 with three walks and a pair of runs. Anthony Cole and Cody Guess were both 1-for-2.
   Thursday's Game

   Summers-Taylor 1
   Getting off to fast start with four runs in the top of the first, Citizen's Bank never looked back in its win over Summers-Taylor.
   The Bankers drew a dozen walks -- three by Jacob Hill -- in the contest, Zack Naylor tripled, and Jake Hubbard had a double and two runs. Tyler Ballard also scored twice, and chipped in with a single.
   Hubbard totaled 10 strikeouts and surrendered only one hit, that being a single from Taylor Edwards in the sixth.
