Carter County Bank eeks past T-C Nissan

   Derek Mann piled up 14 strikeouts and Mathew Potter batted 3-for-3 on Monday night at T.J. Burleson Field, serving as the catalysts for a 4-3 Carter County Bank victory over Tri-Cities Nissan in Elizabethton National Little League action.
   CCB tallied the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make a winner out of Mann. Chase Depew led off with a single , Brooks Cochran drew a walk, Matthew Potter dented a base hit, then Landon South drove in the winning run.
   Trailing 1-0, Nissan tied things up in the top of the fourth when C.J. Bowling doubled, then scored on a single by Ethan Fleenor.
   The Bankers answered with two runs in the bottom half of the frame on an error, a fielder's choice by Mann and a Mathew Potter base hit.
   With Dylan Carr and Jake Miller on base in the top of the fifth, Caleb Sheets banged a double to score both runners and even up the game once again.
   Depew and South contributed 2-for-3 and 1-for-2 showings, respectively, for CCB.
   Carr and Sheets were both 1-for-1 for Nissan, which got 1-for-2 games from Bowling and Fleenor.
   Taylor Gouge was a hard-luck losing pitcher.

   Stacy Sheffield hurled a three-hitter, issued no walks and tripled in a 1-for-1 performance as Carter County Motors bested Six Sigma.
   The game was tied at 1 at the end of the first inning, but Motors followed with two run in the second and added another pair in the fourth.
   Cody Anderson and Nick Kyte both batted 2-for-2 to pace a nine-hit CCM assault, with Cody Hyder tagging a triple in a 1-for-1 outing.
   Bryan Mullins, Wes Montgomery and Casey Sheffield each went 1-for-2.
   Going 1-for-2 apiece for Sigma was Jacob Howell, Logan Loving and Cody Tolley.
