Tennessee High conquers 'Betsy

   BRISTOL -- Two goals each from Manes Preptit and Joe Smith engineered a 5-1 Tennessee High victory over Elizabethton in high school soccer action Friday night.
   Off an assist from Brett Sorah, Preptit opened the scoring for the Vikes with a goal nine minutes into the contest, then tallied his second goal two minutes later to open up a 2-0 Tennessee High lead.
   Although the Cyclones managed just four shots on goal, they sliced the Viking lead in half at the 26-minute mark. Kyle Germaine drove the ball inside the THS box, where he slid a pass to Josh Fair, whose ensuing shot bounced off the left post. Eric Crowe was there for the rebound, and he sent the ball to the back of the net.
   Elizabethton's hopes, however, were subdued when Smith tallied back-to-back goals to give the Vikings a 4-1 halftime lead.
   Patrick Kennedy added a second-half goal and Andrew Davenport had an assist for Tennessee High, which upped its record to 7-1.
   The Cyclones, now 3-5, host Sullivan North on Tuesday at 7.
