Lady Jr. Cyclones whip CH

   Colonial Heights was no match for the T.A. Dugger softball team on Thursday, as the Lady Junior Cyclones steamrolled to wins of 10-1 and 16-1.
   In the first game, Colonial Heights and T.A. Dugger were tied at 1 through two innings, but the Lady Cyclones erupted for nine runs over the next two frames.
   Leah Henson led TAD offensively, collecting a pair of hits and a run. Kelli Culler and Chelsey Fagan both added a base hit, and Fagan and McKenzie Eggers scored two runs apiece.
   Picking up the win on the hill was Taylor Bellessa, who tossed a one-hitter and recorded nine strikeouts.
   It didn't take the Lady Cyclones as long to get rolling in the second contest, which saw them use seven walks and a base hit to tally five first-inning runs.
   TAD had its big inning in the third, scoring nine times.
   Britney Eggers was tops for the Lady Cyclones offensively, denting two hits and scoring two runs. Madison McKinney and Summer Smith punched out a hit each, and Kyla Jones, Jasmine Treadway, Janey Robinson and McKinney scored two runs apiece.
   Smith was the winning pitcher, giving up two hits and striking out six.
   The Lady Cyclones improved to 7-0 overall (5-0 in conference). They will host Science Hill on Monday and Indian Trail on Tuesday, with both games set for 4 p.m.
