Elizabethton defeats Raiders with ease

   KINGSPORT -- Losing only a smattering of games along the way, the Elizabethton boys tennis team registered a 9-0 victory over Sullivan North on Tuesday afternoon.
   Curtis Brumit, the Cyclones' No. 1 singles seed, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Ben Marshall, while Seth Wallingford, 'Betsy's No. 2 singles player, beat Kevin Willis by 6-1, 6-3 scores.
   Jordan Peters picked up a forfeit for EHS, and Jamis Gouge, who beat Hunter Williams, and Sean Snyder, who defeated Corey Roberts, prevailed by 8-0 tallies.
   Tim Franklin closed out singles action with an 8-1 decision over Corey Johnson.
   In doubles play, Brumit and Wallingford put an 8-2 dent in Marshall and Willis, Cody Richardson and Peters beat up on Williams and Roberts 8-0; and Franklin and Snyder won by forfeit.
   The Lady Cyclones also had an easy time of things against North, losing only a doubles match in an 8-1 win.
   Top singles seed Amanda Pike flattened Jessica Ketron 6-1, 6-0, and No. 2 singles player Allison Parlier blanked Emily Knapp 6-0, 6-0.
   Ashley Street whitewashed Lindsey Vaughn 8-0, Kristina Elliott topped Bethany Marshall 8-1, Erin Rogers subdued Kim Mitchell 8-1 and Lourean Hughes knocked off Kelly Vanover 8-3 in other singles play.
   Pike and Rikki Baughman scored an 8-0 win over Ketron and Knapp in doubles activity, with EHS teammates Street and Elliott beating Vaughn and Mitchell 8-4.
   Vanover and Marshall had the doubles victory for the Lady Golden Raiders.
