'Horns rally in seventh to turn back Rangers

from staff reports

MOUNTAIN CITY -- Staging a dramatic seventh-inning rally, Johnson County snared a 4-3 victory over the Unaka Rangers in a non-conference baseball game on Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing 3-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Longhorns started to engineer their comeback when Robert Reyburn slapped a leadoff single. Brian Bauguess followed with a fielder's choice, then Gary Evans tagged a base hit.
After Michael Davis drew a walk to load the bases, Jesse Jenkins banged a two-run double to tie the game. From there, Nathan Paisley was intentionally walked and Zak Reece flied out before Chris McElyea delivered a game-winning single.
Jenkins led the way for the 'Horns at the plate, collecting a single to go along with his double. Davis and Paisley both had singles.
Showing the way for the Rangers offensively was Cody Collins with a pair of doubles, and Tee Blevins with a single and a double. Rusty Chambers had a two-bagger of his own, and Chad Lewis and Ryan Bowers dented a single apiece.
   Evans was the winning pitcher.
