EHS netters blast Central

   The Elizabethton Cyclones lived up to their nickname Monday in tennis, blowing away Sullivan Central by 9-0 scores in both boys' and girls' play.
   Winning for the 'Betsy boys in singles were Curtis Brumit, 6-0, 6-2 over Jonathan Wallace; Seth Wallingford, 6-2, 6-3 over Josh Stevens; Jordan Peters, 6-1, 6-1 over Tanner Looney; Jamis Gouge, 6-1, 6-1 over Westley Ketron; Sean Snyder, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 over James Eaton; and Tim Franklin, 6-1, 6-0 over Adam Trinkle.
   In doubles action, Brumit and Wallingford derailed Wallace and Stevens by an 8-3 score. Furthermore, Peters and Tetrick downed Looney and Ketron, 8-4, and Franklin and Cody Richardson tripped Alex Davenport and Corey Feagins, 8-3.
   Lady Cyclone singles winners included Amanda Pike, who beat Stacy Wingate, 6-2, 6-2; Allison Parlier, 6-3, 6-1 over Amanda Queen; Ashley Street, 6-1, 6-3 over Julie LeSueur; Kristina Elliott, 6-3, 6-0 over Kylee Looney; Erin Rogers, 6-1, 6-2 over Samantha Huber; and Lourean Hughes, by forfeit.
   In doubles activities, Pike and Rikki Baughman upended Wingate and Queen, 8-3. Also, Elliott and Street bested LeSueur and Looney, 8-5; and Kala Culler and Hughes knocked off Huber and Krista Cole, 8-0.
   Elizabethton visits Sullivan North today.
