Warriors rally to top 'Dogs

Happy Valley scored two runs in the bottom of
the seventh inning to score a 2-1 win over Hampton Thursday
in Watauga Conference baseball action.
The Bulldogs scored one run in the top of the
first and held on to the lead until the final inning behind
the strong pitching of Kevin Harrison.
The Warriors came back to nab the win after Todd
Caldwell scored the tying run and with Tim Whaley at the plate,
a wild pitch allowed Cody Whitlock to score.
Britton Brummitt (6-3) picked up the win for
Happy Valley, who improved to 7-6 in league play and 14-8
overall. Despite the valiant effort, the Bulldogs remained
winless in conference play.
Offensive leaders for the Tribe were Caldwell,
who was a perfect 3-for-3 on the day and Jordy Harrison with
a 1-for-2 effort that included a double.
Next on the schedule for the Warriors is a doubleheader,
when they host West Greene.
