Morristown West product to play basketball
at MC
from staff reports
Channing Richardson, a 6-7 standout center from
Morristown West High School, has signed a letter of intent
to play basketball at Milligan College.
Richardson averaged 17 points per game and 11
rebounds per game this past season for the Trojans.
He was selected to the All-Lakeway Region Team,
All-IMAC Team, All-District first team, and All-Northeast
Tennessee second team. As a junior he was an All-Region selection.
Milligan head coach Tony Wallingford is excited
to have Richardson join his program.
"Channing has outstanding potential," Wallingford
said. "He's got a lot of natural athletic ability that we
feel combined with some added strength make him an excellent
prospect for our program.
"Our lack of depth in the post position presents
a solid opportunity for Channing to gain valuable experience
as a freshman. He is a hard worker, a quality person and a
good fit for Milligan College."
Richardson plans a major in business at Milligan.
He is the son of Mike and Kathy Richardson of Morristown.
