Lady 'Horns stop Hampton

   MOUNTAIN CITY -- Laura Peters pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts on Thursday, leading Johnson County's Lady Longhorns to a 10-1 victory over Hampton in Watauga Conference softball play.
   Peters also did the most damage at the plate for the Lady 'Horns (3-9), going 3-for-4 to top an eight-hit attack.
   Amanda Dowell added a 2-for-4 effort while Dena Hensley totaled three RBIs for Johnson County.
   Wednesday's Game
   CHURCH HILL--Andrea McQueen and Katie Nelson had two hits apiece in a 3-0 Johnson County loss to Volunteer.
   Candice Marshall was tops for the Lady Falcons, batting 2-for-3. Tierra Trammell pitched the shutout.
