Lady Buffs split pair with Union

   BARBOURVILLE, Kent. -- Milligan ran away with game one 12-1 but couldn't complete the sweep and lost the nightcap 5-4 to Union College in an AAC softball doubleheader on Monday.
   The Lady Buffs banged out 12 hits and 12 runs and received solid pitching from workhorse Brandy Waddle. She worked six innings, limiting the Lady Bulldogs to one run.
   Danielle Gilley, coming off a 5 for 6 day against Brevard on Sunday, continued swinging a hot bat by going 4 for 9 in the doubleheader, getting three hits in the first game.
   Carissa Ellis went 2 for 4 in the first game.
   Union fought back in the second game to snap a five-game losing streak.
   Waddle picked up the loss for the Lady Buffs. She is 17-13 on the season.
   Milligan will host UVA-Wise this afternoon in its final home game of the season. Seven seniors will be recognized between the two games.
