T.A. Dugger overwhelms Unicoi County

   The only thing that Unicoi County had left to run for was the bus as the T.A. Dugger boys and girls track team simply outmatched the visitors in a dual track meet at Brown-Childress track.
   The Jr. Cyclone girls took their portion of the meet by a 75-29 score while the Jr. 'Clone boys throttled the Patriots 93-12.
   In the field events, the Jr. Lady Cyclones took three of four events as Marti Bush took the shot with a distance of 28-2 and the discus with a toss of 65-9.
   Casey Crockett owned the long jump as she leaped a distance of 13-11. Victoria Hopson made it a one-two placing in the event as she finished second behind Crockett.
   Taking five of six of the track events, the Jr. Lady Cyclones dominated on the girls side. In the 100 hurdles, Katrina Moore finished first with a time of :19.32 followed closely by Leya Martinez of TAD .59 seconds off the pace behind Moore with a time of :19.91.
   In the 100m event, Hopson took gold with a time of :14.98, with Chassie Hodge finishing third with a time of :15.00. Ashlynn Hunt showed the way in the 400m competition with a 1:12 finish followed by Kyla Jones with a 1:14 showing.
   The 800m belonged to the girls from TAD as well, with Katie Rednour taking the event in 2:58:41 followed closely by teammate Sharon Smythe with a 3:04:78 time. To finish things off, Sophia Murrillo took the 200m with a time of :32.22 while Katrina Moore made it one-two with a :32.28 finish.
   On the boys side, domination was the word as the TAD boys spanked the Patriots taking almost every event. Chase Turley led things off in the field events by hurling the discus an outstanding distance of 126-0, while second-place finisher, Andrew Kennedy of TAD, marked out at 98-11.5.
   Turley closed out his day by taking the shot-put as well a toss of 38-11, followed by Kennedy once again with his toss of 31-5.5. In the high jump, Brent Shaver took first with a jump of 4-9 while Bo Carter came in third with a jump of 4-6.
   In the long jump, Scott Burleson led TAD to the win with a leap of 15-2 followed by Tom Roddy at a mark of 14-6.
   On the track event side of the ledger, Seth Wallingford took first place in the 110 hurdles with a time of :18.27 followed by teammate Michael Lane at a clip of :20.28. Chris Brumit secured the win for TAD in the 1600m with a winning time of 5:54.16. Matt Mottern took second for the Jr. Cyclones with a time of 6:11.00.
   Jake Peters led the assault in the 100m and 200m, finishing with a time of :12.70 in the 100m and :28.10 in the 200m. Roddy finished second in both events as well with times of :12.97 in the 100m and :30.69 in the 200m race.
   Shaver took the 400m event with Chris Hubbard claiming second place for TAD. Brumit also secured the 800m race in a winning time of 2:42:00 followed by Wendell Loving at a time of 2:43:00.
   TAD was also victorious in the 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay, and 4x400 relay on both the girls and boys side of the ledger.
