Buffs rip Bluefield

   BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Milligan scored early and often on Saturday to salvage the final game of the three-series against Bluefield.
   The Buffs won the finale 17-5, improving their record to 20-13 overall and 9-5 in the AAC.
   Ben Whittemore had a career day, going 5 for 5 with three doubles and six RBIs to lead Milligan to a season-high 23 hits.
   Also for Milligan, Dustin Price went 3 for 3 with his fifth home run of the season. Price finished the game with three RBIs, while freshmen David Rusaw went 3 for 4 with a RBI.
   The Buffs; Scott Shealy picked up two more hits to finish the series 6 for 13.
   Jacob McAllister (2-1) pitched seven strong innings to collect his second win of the season. He struck out four and walked two. Chris Shockley pitched the eighth for the Buffs.
   Chad Morris absorbed the loss for Bluefield, allowing six runs in 2.1 innings for work.
   Milligan will travel to Carson Newman on Monday to play a single game at 3 p.m.
