Cash Express, Twins prevail

   Carter County Motors and Cash Express engaged in a real battle Thursday night at T.J. Burleson Field, where the Express emerged with a 2-1 victory in the city tournament.
   Motors grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in this game, scoring in the top of the first, and things stayed that way until the bottom of the fifth, when Cash knotted the score.
   In the bottom of the sixth, Luke Snyder led off with a double, Justin Bailey got Snyder to third with a single, and a Zack Miller single drove Snyder home for the Express win.
   Joe Guinn turned in a good outing on the mound for Cash to pick up the win, and Michael Hutchins, Jacob Davis, Luke Snyder, Justin Bailey and Zach Miller backed him up offensively by going 1-for-2 apiece.
   Cody Hyder and Ethan Meredith, each batting 1-for-2, accounted for Motors' only two hits.

   The Twins rode the effective pitching arm of Lance Reed to knock off Burgie, as Reed struck out 13 batters, issued no walks and finished with a two-hitter.
   Zack Montgomery turned in a 2-for-2 effort at the plate for the Twins, who got 1-for-2 showings from Ben McKinney, Craig Sheets, Norman Scott, Summer Garland and Caleb Durant.
   Matt Febuary and Luke Martinez both batted 1-for-2 to pace Burgie.
