Jr. Cyclones drop pair of close games

from staff reports

T.A. Dugger didn't go down without a fight in Middle Eight Conference baseball action on Monday night.
The Junior Cyclones first dropped a 3-1 decision which required three extra innings to decide, then absorbed an 8-7 loss in the back end of the junior high doubleheader.
In the eight-inning opener, Nick McNeal pitched seven strong innings for T.A. Dugger. Austin Taylor took over for McNeal and did a solid job, but suffered a hard-luck loss.
McNeal, Cory Hilton, Wes Anderson and Taylor had one hit apiece for the Junior Cyclones.
Taylor toed the rubber for TAD in the nightcap. Once again he turned in a solid performance, and once again he had to settle for a tough loss.
"Our pitching was very good all night," said T.A. Dugger coach Jason Carter.
Weston Isaacs, McNeal, Anderson and Taylor each banged out a hit for the Junior Cyclones, who stand at 4-4 on the season. TAD entertains Church Hill this Friday.
