Birchfield hurls CCM to victory

   With Brandon Birchfield taking control on the mound, Carter County Motors downed Valley Forge Auction 2-0 in play from the City Little League Tournament at Jim Ensor Field Tuesday night.
   Birchfield earned the win, while Cody Hyder led the winners at the plate with a 1-for-1 showing. Nolan Childers, Chris Pierce and Casey Sheffield each contributed 1-for-2 efforts for Carter County Motors.
   Chris Dunbar, Bradley McVey, Jerry Berkley and Aaron Garcia all went 1-for-2 for Valley Forge Auction. Berkley pitched well in a losing cause.

   Cash Express scored all of its runs in the top of the first, then held on for the win behind the good pitching work of Jacob Davis.
   Joe Guinn, Michael Hutchins, Jacob Davis and Luke Snyder each batted 1-for-2 for Cash Express.
   Franky Covarrubias was tops for Lawn Care, which tallied both of its runs in the second, with a 2-for-2 performance. Justin Pierce and Jeremy Wright each batted 1-for-2.

   Citizens Bank 0
   Drew Chambers ripped a pair of hits in three at-bats while Casey Crapps held the Banker bats in check, lifting Burgie Drugs to victory.
   Crapps and Aaron Vaughn were both 1-for-1 at the dish, with Zack Miller, Matt Febuary and Austin Herron going 1-for-2 each.
   Hunter Peters, at 1-for-1, led Citizens Bank. Marcus Hill and Frankie Birchfield added 1-for-3 showings.

   Carter County Bank 1
   Benjamin McKinney, who had a perfect game until the second batter in the fourth inning, finished with a one-hitter and 14 strikeouts as the Twins got the job done.
   Cody Forbes stopped a rally in the fourth by Carter County Bank. Bases were loaded with one out when Forbes made a double play.
   Casey Sheets, 2-for-2, and Lance Reed, 2-for-3, carried the offense for the E-Twins. Zack Montgomery was 1-for-2 and McKinney 1-for-3.
   Caleb Palm accounted for the Bank's one hit.
