Cash Express grabs first win

In a battle between two teams searching for their
first win of the season, Cash Express didn't waste much time
making its move at T.J. Burleson Field.
Scoring eight runs in the first inning, the Express
zipped to a 13-3 National League victory Monday night.
Little left-handed Austin Johnson won a one-hitter
for Express, which got 3-for-3 performances from Jared Cline
and Drew Chambers.
Lucas Birchfield topped Burgie at 1-for-2.

With Blake Hopson tossing a one-hitter and banging
out three doubles in three at-bats, VFA got the job done against
the Twins.
Garrett Dykes, Jordan Hodges, Bradley McVey,
Justin Peters and Christopher Dunbar added 1-for-2 efforts.
Lance Reed accounted for the Twins' one hit.

Cody Marley tagged a home run, scored twice and
drew a pair of walks as Cline-Holder turned away A1 at Jim
Ensor Field.
Rodger Brown and Marley, who took the mound in
the fifth, teamed on a 1-hitter.
Thomas Roddy ripped a triple while Logan Andrews
and Johnathan Nichols dented a double apiece for Cline-Holder.
James Warwick and Kendall Wash chipped in a base hit each.
Aaron Taylor cracked a double to lead A1.

Behind Derrick Holden's 2-for-3 showing at the
dish, Summers-Taylor overcame a 5-0 deficit in the final three
innings. Amanda Wilson scored the game-winning run on a Holden
single in the bottom of the sixth.
Dustin Arnett had a 2-for-3 game, including a
double, of his own for S-T, which got a hit each from Wesley
Keylon and Dakota Waters. James Matheson recorded the victory
in relief.
Jacques Roman and Bruce Crumley both had triples
for KFC. Sam Adams and Phillip Dale chipped in a hit each.
