Lady Jr. Cyclones throttle Robinson

Mary Edgar hurled a five-inning one-hitter while
Katie Hubbard and Brittany Smith took care of the offense,
leading T.A. Dugger to a 6-1 victory over Ross N. Robinson
Friday afternoon.
It was the regular-season finale for the Lady
Junior Cyclones, who upped their record to 9-5 in the Middle
Seven Conference and 10-5 overall.
Finishing in a tie for third in league play,
TAD will enter the conference tournament as a No. 4 seed and
host Robinson this Tuesday, 4:30 p.m., at the Blackbottom
field.
A victory will send the Lady Cyclones to the
semifinals in Bristol.
With Edgar (5-1) on top of her game, collecting
five strikeouts against just one walk, Robinson had little
success against the Lady Cyclones on Friday.
Hubbard went 2-for-2 with an RBI, one stolen
base and a run scored. As for Smith, she had a 2-for-2 day
of her own, collecting a triple and two runs.
TAD's Victoria Hopson and Megan Heaton chipped
in 1-for-2 showings, driving in a run apiece. Edgar added
a pair of runs and a stolen base.
Jessica Greene had the lone hit for Robinson.
