Bankers, Welders prevail in National L.L. contests

   Carter County Bank and Valley Forge Auction put on a clinic in good pitching and defense Monday night at T.J. Burleson Field.
   When all was said and done, the Bankers had walked away with a 1-0 victory in National Little League action.
   Isiah Osborne hurled a gem of a game for CCB, finishing with a one-hitter. Even though he took the loss, Blake Hopson was quite impressive for VFA.
   Justin Fuqua and Cane McWalters each went 1-for-1 for the Bankers, who scored in the bottom of the second. Ethan Laws and Osborne followed at 1-for-2 apiece.
   VFA's lone hit came off the bat of Brandon Woods.

   Twins 1
   Behind a 2-for-3 showing from Michael Hutchins and the solid pitching of Josh Sorah, BET Welding turned in a sharp performance against the Twins.
   Bucky Harris and Sorah both batted 1-for-2 for the Welders, while Benjamin McKinney's 2-for-2 effort paced the Twins.
   Also for the Twins, Craig Sheets, Roy Edwards and Skylar Dugger each batted 1-for-2.
   Casey Crapps turned in a good defensive game.
