   Cloudland scored nine runs on 12 hits to beat Tri-Cities Christian 9-6 in prep baseball action on Friday afternoon.
   Caleb Denton picked up the win for the Highlanders, while James Gardner was credited with the save.
   Mark Byrd was 3-for-4 at the plate with two of those hits for doubles, Denton was also 3-for-4 with one double and knocking in three RBIs. Catcher Mark Barnett had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI's.
   WARRIORS TOP NORTH
   Happy Valley won another Watauga Conference contest on Saturday beating Sullivan North 3-2 at Cannon-Gouge Park.
   Lamar Rollins hit a solo home run in the first inning and went 2-for-3 in the day. Freshman pitcher Ryan Toney (2-1) picked up the win for the Warriors, who improved to 5-3 in league play and 11-7 overall with the win.
   LADY RANGERS SHUT OUT JC
   Danielle Carr struck out 12 batters, while only allowing two walks to help Unaka shut out Johnson County 3-0 in girls softball action on Friday.
   Jessica Moffitt was instrumental in the Lady Ranger offense, going 1-for-3 with a double. Laura Peters struck out four and walked four in a solid effort for the Lady Longhorns.
   Unaka plays Sullivan South at home on Monday, travels to Cloudland on Tuesday before returning home to face Happy Valley on Wednesday.
   T.A.D. SCORES RARE WIN OVER UC
   T.A. Dugger scored their first win over Unicoi County in seven years 3-0 in the first game of a doubleheader in junior high softball action on Friday.
   Ryann Musick (2-1) scored four runs and gave up only two walks on the mound. At the plate, Cameron Crapps was 2-for-3 with two runs, Katie Hubbard was 2-for-2 with a run and Brittany Smith was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
   In the second contest, Unicoi County won 10-2. Brittany Brown (1-2) took the loss for the Lady Cyclones giving up eight hits, fanning five batters and walking two.
   Ashley Cline was 2-for-2, while Crapps and Mikael Oliver each went 1-for-2 for T.A. Dugger, who now sports an overall record of 4-4 and 3-4 in conference play.
