Milligan falls to Cavs

   The UVa-Wise Cavaliers used a five-run uprising in the second inning to propel themselves to a 6-3 win on Sunday afternoon at Anglin Field.
   Wise got to Milligan starter Brad Zachritz for four hits and five runs, but Zachritz soon settled down, eventually pitching seven frames.
   Zachritz struck outfive and allowed six hits in his mound stint.
   Rob Maynard tossed two and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief, but ther Buffaloes bats were held in check most of the afternoon.
   The Buffs scored a pair of runs in the last of the sixth to make it a 6-3 game and give Milligan a chance to rally, but a last inning rally fell short when Ben Whittemore popped out to end the contest.
   Whittemore led the Buffs with two-for-five on the day.
   Todd Speas went one-for-three, which included his first round tripper of the season.
   Speas blast was a solo shot in the second frame.
   Milligan will travel to Carson-Newman for a 2 p.m. game on Tuesday before returning home on Thursday for a game with Mars Hill.
