Turner, Bucs upend Elon

   ELON, N.C. -- East Tennessee State scored seven runs in the first five innings and got a strong outing by ETSU senior lefty Tim Turner en route to a 7-5 Southern Conference baseball victory from Latham Park in Elon, N.C. Sunday afternoon.
   With the loss, the Phoenix (13-15, 8-4 SoCon) took two of the three games over ETSU (13-16, 4-8) in the weekend set.
   East Tennessee State touched up Elon starter Matt McSwain for five runs, four earned, in 3.0 innings of work.
   Turner (4-4) picked up the victory for ETSU going 6.0 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and four free passes. Moore picked up his fourth save of the year after pitching the ninth.
   Six Buc players tallied two-hit performances led by Andy owdeshell's 2-for-5, one run, three RBI day. Caleb Moore went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI for ETSU. The Bucs finished the day with 13 hits.
   Elon's offense was led by Rembert, Stevens and Erickson who each had two hits. Rembert scored two runs and drove in another, while Erickson recorded two RBI. The Phoenix had seven hits on the afternoon.
   East Tennessee State returns to the diamond for a non-conference game against UNC Asheville Wednesday afternoon. First pitch between the Bucs and Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m. from Greenwood Field in Asheville, N.C.
