Boys to Men nabs narrow victory inclub tournament

   The Elizabethton/Carter County Boys & Girls Club postseason was in full swing on Saturday, as the elimination process of the tournament had begun.
   It was Boys To Men slipping past the Warriors in the 14-15 year olds after sinking some clutch free-throws down the stretch for a 36-35 victory.
   The Tarheels blew past Bluff City 72-42 while receiving 12 three-point goals for the 30-point victory.
   In the 11-13 year olds, it was the 76ers edging the Tarheels 29-27 after trailing by two at the half.
   The Kings got out of the blocks quick, as they cruised to a 55-33 victory over the Blue Devils.
   It was the Longhorns nipping the Tarheels in a 33-30 final after holding off a late rally.
   The Spurs jumped out to the early advantage, but it was the Blue Devils who conquered in the end with a come-from-behind 44-41 victory.
   In the 8-10 year old boys, the Celtics were dug a hole early, but a strong second-half enabled them to come away with a 24-20 victory over the Bulls.
   The Cyclones were in control from start to finish, as they disposed of the 76ers in a 24-8 final.
   It was the Buffaloes who dominated in the 5-7 year old boys, as they jumped on top and never let up on the Tarheels in a 26-7 victory.
   The Vols trailed through the first three periods, but an 8-0 fourth-quarter performance gave them an 11-6 win over the Timberwolves.
   In the girls' 8-11 year old division, it was the Lady Comets with an overwhelming 22-3 victory over the Lady Vols.
   It was a hard-fought battle, but in the end the Lady Tarheels managed to get a 17-15 victory over the Lady Lakers.
   The Lady Blue Devils had a good start and finish to grab a 16-5 victory over the Lady Vols in the Girls 5-7 year old division.
   After pulling ahead by six points during the third period, it was the Lady Wildcats posting a 9-5 win over the Lady Tarheels.
