Lady Rangers upend Jellico

Playing Saturday in the misty rain, Unaka scored
seven runs in the first two innings to easily beat Jellico
10-2 in girls softball action.
Catcher Emily Elliott led the Lady Ranger bats,
hitting 2-for-3 on the day, while Amber Woods went 1-for-2,
driving in two runs, and Medora Carrier doubled to drive in
another run.
On the mound, Danielle Williams picked up the
win by allowing only the two runs in the fourth inning. Ryann
Musick came in relief in the fifth inning to finish off the
day.
Combined the Unaka pitchers struck out six batters,
while walking only three. On the other side, the Lady Devils
recorded three K's, but gave eight batters the free trip to
first base.
The Lady Rangers improved to 5-4 on the season,
before returning to action Monday at 4:30 p.m. when they host
the Lady Trailblazers of Daniel Boone.
