Milligan baseball team swipes pair from King

   BRISTOL -- Milligan uses solid pitching and good hitting to beat King in a doubleheader, 5-4 and 9-4, in college baseball action on Friday afternoon.
   Game 1 saw Matt Simmons continue his great start on the mound for the Buffs in their 5-4 triumph. He tossed a complete game, picking up his sixth win of the season while scattering six hits and allowing four runs in seven innings.
   Simmons struck out three.
   Nathan Meade led the Buffs with two hits and a RBI. Pat Gould had a clutch hit, driving in an important run for the Buffs.
   In the second contest, Milligan banged out nine runs and 13 hits to defeat King.
   Scott Shealy, Ben Whittemore and Ryan Dunn all went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs, and Nathan Meade had two hits and two RBIs to finish the day with four hits and three RBIs.
   Dustin Barrett worked into the fifth inning for his fourth win of the season. Jacob McAllister got the final eight outs to picked up his first save of the season.
   Milligan improved to 17-11 overall and 6-3 in the conference.
