Banion propels Lady Buffs past Bluefield

   Milligan's Lady Buffaloes jumped all over Bluefield on Friday to sweep an AAC doubleheader, winning 9-1 in both games.
   Shelby Banion knocks in four runs with two triples to help Milligan (13-3, 16-10) beat Bluefield in the opener.
   Banion's first triple knocked in Andrea Henriott to put the Buffs up 3-0. Her second triple cleared the bases in the fourth inning, knocking in three runs to put the game away.
   Banion also scored two runs.
   Danielle Gilley helped pace the Lady Buffs, going 2 for 3 with a run scored and RBI, while teammate Carissa Ellis scored a pair of runs.
   Brandy Waddle picked up her 10th win of the season, working the first three innings. She struck out six of the 10 batters she faced, walked one and didn't allow a hit.
   Banion pitched two innings, giving up one run and two hits. The lone Bluefield run scored on a wild pitch from Banion in the fifth inning.
   In the second game, Milligan took advantage of wild pitching from Bluefield to score nine runs on only four hits.
   The Lady Buffs walked 10 times and got hit three other times. Rebecca Dawson had two of the four hits for Milligan, with Rebecca Gilley going 1 for 2 with a double.
   Brandy Waddle pitched two innings for her second win of the day and her 11th of the season. She improves to 11-9 on the season, retired all six batters she faced striking out three.
   Courtney Ruth pitched the remaining three innings for the Lady Buffs, allowing one hit and one run.
