Buffs hammer Hilbert

Milligan banged out 25 runs and 24 hits to sweep
Hilbert (N.Y.) College in the doubleheader on Thursday afternoon,
taking wins of 15-1 and 10-0.
Milligan (15-11) scored 12 runs in the first
two innings to run away with 15-1 victory over the Hawks in
Game 1. The Buffs had 17 hits and nine different players scored
a run.
Scott Shealy led the way for Milligan, going
3 for 4 with his third home run of the season. He also scored
three runs.
Jason Torres knocked in a total of four runs
with a single in the first inning and a double in the second
inning.
Ben Whittemore had two hits and a sacrifice fly,
and knocked in two and scored two runs.
Dustin Price had three singles. He scored two
runs and knocked in two runs. Pat Gould also had three hits
for the Buffs.
Jacob McAllister worked the first three innings
on the mound picking up his first win of the season. He improved
to 1-1 on the season, giving up one hit while striking out
three batters.
Chase Allcott tossed the final two innings for
the Buffs, fanning four batters. Alcott gave up one run --
his first of the season-- on two hits.
Game 2
Nathan Chandler started the scoring in the first
inning with a three-run triple and later scored on a Dustin
Price sacrifice fly to put Milligan ahead, 4-0. He finished
the game with two hits and 5 RBIs for the Buffs.
Brian LeHeup ended the game in the fifth inning
driving in two runs with a double. He had two hits, two runs
and two RBIs.
Aaron Wallus tossed three innings to pick up
the win for the Buffs. Wallus allowed one hit while striking
out three batters to improve to 1-0 on the season. Josh Mitchell
pitched the final two innings, giving up one hit and striking
out two.
Milligan will travel to Bristol today to play
King College. They will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. They
will conclude the three-game series on Saturday at 1 p.m.
