Bulldogs win two from Providence Academy

   Hampton scored six runs in the first two innings to thump Providence Academy 10-3 in game one of a baseball doubleheader on Friday.
   Robbie England led the Bulldog batters going 3-for-3, two of those doubles, with six RBIs.
   Adam Miller picked up the win for the 'Dogs, while another Miller, Clinton starred for Providence, also going 3-for-3 at the plate.
   In the nightcap, the Bulldogs survived an initial onslaught by Providence, which scored six runs in the top of the first inning.
   Hampton responded with five runs in the bottom frame and pulled away the next inning, lighting up the Providence pitchers for eight runs.
   England was once again the star at the plate, going 2-for-2, both extra base hits -- a triple and a double. This time England accounted for five RBIs, making his total for the day 11.
   Kevin Harrison was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs, with Brandon Barnett coming in relief for a second save of the day. David Gill also nabbed two hits for Providence.
   The Bulldogs remained a perfect 4-0 on the season with the win. On Monday, they wil host the Huskies of North Greene.
   SULLIVAN SCHOOLS TOUGH FOR EHS

   Elizabethton dropped a pair of baseball contests to Sullivan County schools the past two days. On Friday, they lost to Sullivan South 4-1 despite a strong pitching performance from Joseph Vines.
   In Saturday's game, they lost 14-4 to Sullivan East. On both days Adam Greenlee and Travis Bowers were the leading hitters. The Cyclones will face a third Sullivan County school on Monday when they go to Central. They return to action against Carter County schools on Tuesday when they oppose Hampton.
