Buffs hold on for 9-6 victory

   Milligan jumped out to a 9-0 lead and held on to defeat Southern Wesleyan 9-6 in a college baseball contest on Monday afternoon.
   Matt Simmons pitched seven innings, allowing just one run along the way, to improve to 3-1 on the season.
   Southern Wesleyan made the game close scoring five runs with no out in the ninth, but Brad Zachritz came in the game to pick the save for the Buffs (8-5).
   Scott Shealy led the way for the Buffs by going 4 for 5 with two RBIs. Jesse Dannemiller also had a big day, going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Freshmen David Rusaw knocked in three with two hits for the Buffs.
   Milligan travels to North Georgia on Wednesday before returning home to host Mars Hill on Thursday.
